How to Bag your Dream Job: What to Wear to an Interview

No matter what job the interview’s for, first impressions are very important when it comes to getting it right, so important in fact, that many employers even make up their mind about a candidate within the first thirty seconds of meeting them!

There’s no denying then that what you wear to an interview can have a real impact on whether or not you land the job, however, it doesn't make the task of choosing an outfit any easier. Luckily, the team at Fiorelli are on hand to offer interview tips and help you to decide what to wear to an interview with our monochrome Kay Francis bag:

Do your Research
Separate yourself from the pack by getting it right. Do your research. A fashion forward outfit is more than acceptable if you’re going for a job as a Designer, and could even put you at a distinct advantage, but an orange and paisley clashing suit should be avoided in the corporate world.
This doesn't mean you need to shed all individuality, a memorable accessory such as the Kay Francis Monochrome Grab bag or a striking and tasteful necklace will give you presence without looking overdone.

Try on your Outfit in Advance
While it’s important to look good, it’s more important to feel comfortable. Try on your outfit a couple of nights before and practice your interview questions in front of the mirror. If you’re wearing a skirt make sure it doesn’t come up too high when you sit down etc. If you've not been able to secure much information about the dress code it’s best to opt smart.

Be Confident!
The main thing to remember is to wear the clothes, don’t let the clothes wear you – if you are uncomfortable it will not only show but make you feel self-conscious and distracted. Walk into the room with your head held high, if you believe in yourself the employer will be much more likely to believe in you.
