The time has come for us to layer up, sigh. But it’s not all doom and gloom, purchasing hip, warm winter coats makes dressing in the dark a little more bearable. Whether you choose the classic trench coat, a cosy shearling number or a classic double breasted style, it’s hard to ignore the impression camel coats are making on the fashion world. Warm winter coats don’t come much classier and the colour looks a treat paired with black, grey, and white hues. Dress it down in a simple t-shirt and ripped jeans or turn it up a notch with dogtooth printed trousers, loafers and a black scalloped edge top.

Of course, no outfit is complete without a gorgeous bag.

The bomber jacket brings a casual dimension to smart dressing. Elegant prints and silky textures are juxtaposed with off-duty bomber shapes resulting in a truly contemporary piece of outerwear. Garnish a plain outfit with a floral print, add a squeeze of zest into winter dressing or embrace the collegiate trend with a sporty style. Bomber jackets are usually worn unzipped for maximum impact so admittedly this isn’t one for peak December. But if you’re looking to invest in an extra layer for the daily dash or after work cocktail, this could be your new fave.

We’re going to be honest; when we first heard about the blanket wrap we weren’t entirely convinced. After all, a blanket that doubles up as a jacket sounds more like a last resort at a rainy festival than a chic fashion statement. However all our shapeless fears were put to bed when we invested in some strategic belting and drainpipe jeans. The key to nailing the look is tight fitting core layers which will pull the ensemble together nicely and prove that you do have a figure under there.

If you’re not ready to go for a blanket wrap though, you could embrace the trend with a dressing gown style coat such as the brick orange number pictured. Streamlined and vibrant, it’ll serve as your loyal; go-to winter companion.

Looking for a lightweight cardigan alternative? Kimonos aren’t going anywhere. Choose snazzy prints to revitalise your tired threads or a staple black design with embellished edges.
